The Space Needle is a great destination to add to your itinerary when visiting Seattle. However, a question that we received a lot is: Is the Space Needle worth it? And we get it! We know it’s a major attraction, there’s going to be people, the tickets, the waiting.. so we thought we should answer this once and for all.

Wether you want to visit Seattle for a day or you’re looking for a 3 Day Seattle Itinerary, you’ll definitely want to see the coolest spots in the area. A very famous attraction is the Space Needle, located in the North of the city.

So, shall you go? We’ll share our experience and let you decide whether visiting the Space Needle should be part of your travel plans or not.

Space Needle Facts

• The cost to ascend the Space Needle is hefty so naturally, most people are hesitant to pay the big-ticket price to go up the iconic structure.
• It’s located right near the MoPOP (Museum of Pop Culture), Monorail, and the Chihuly Garden and Glass.
• It’s conveniently located in Downtown Seattle near other nearby tourist spots such as the Pike Place Market .
• The only time we would advise against going up the Space Needle is when the weather is cloudy and rainy. You won’t be able to catch a good view of the city when the weather is bad.

Space Needle View

The view from the open air deck of the Space Needle is one of the best in the city. You’ll be able to see a 360-degree view of the entire town and enjoy cocktails and small bites while you’re up there.
If you’re lucky and the sky is clear, you’ll be able to see a view of Mount Rainier.

What is most impressive about the Space Needle is the revolving glass floor.

If you are interested in alternative places to enjoy a good view of Seattle, check out Kerry Park, Seacrest Park, Alki Beach, Columbia Tower, the water tower at Volunteer Park and the Argosy harbor tour. Many of these options are cheaper and even free!

Another alternative option is to book a hotel or AirBnB with an awesome view of the Space Needle. Seattle is pretty walkable and most downtown hotels and AirBnBs are in walking distance of the Space Needle.

How to Buy The Tickets

You can visit the Space Needle website to reserve your visit and purchase tickets. Tickets are around $45 and you can bundle the tickets with Chihuly Garden and Glass for a small discount.
